Youth Moot Court Competition 2026
The two-time champions, Foster High School
The Expose Excellence Youth Program (EEYP), in partnership with the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, hosted its 2026 Youth Moot Court Competition at the Fort Bend County Justice Center, bringing together high school students from across the county for a fun, fast-paced day of courtroom competition.
After 8 weeks of preparation with Assistant District Attorney mentors, students stepped into the role of appellate attorneys, ready to argue a fictional case inspired by K-pop demon hunters. From analyzing the case to delivering oral arguments, students had the opportunity to experience what it is like to think, speak, and respond like real attorneys in a courtroom setting.
Throughout the morning, teams presented their arguments before a panel of judges, who evaluated them on their legal reasoning, organization, and presentation skills. Students also had to think on their feet, answering judges’ questions and defending their positions in real time.
After a competitive first round, the top two teams advanced to the final round. The championship came down to Travis High School and Foster High School, with both teams delivering impressive performances. In the end, Foster High School took home the win for the second year in a row, with only a few points separating the final scores!
This event would not have been possible without the support of the Assistant District Attorneys who mentored students over the past two months, and the judges who volunteered their time to preside over the competition, including Judge Tyra McCollum, Judge Abraham, Judge Telfair, Judge Wallace, Judge Lewis White, and Brian M. Middleton.
The Youth Moot Court Competition continues to give students a unique opportunity to build confidence, sharpen their public speaking skills, and explore careers in law, all while having a memorable and engaging experience inside a real courtroom.
EEYP looks forward to continuing this tradition and growing the competition in the years to come.
