Youth Spotlight

Nathan, a senior from Willowridge High School, participated in the Leadership Program and the 4W’s Outdoor Field Trip.

“Through Expose Excellence, I learned how to create a professional resume and portfolio and how to write professional emails. The EEYP activity I enjoyed most was debating because it makes me think hard about my choice of words. I became more confident in myself and I am more sociable with people.”

January

Leadership Program

EEYP hosted the Leadership Program in Marshall High School, Willowridge High School and Randle High School this semester from January until March. Students learned about mental health, portfolio building, conflict resolution and also got a chance to meet with professionals in careers they are interested in. Students met with professionals in dentistry, architecture, computer science, and many more careers. It was a fun and educational experience for our students.

The trip aimed to foster an appreciation for nature while building practical life skills. The Four W's team taught essential outdoor skills, including using the sun as a compass for navigation. Students were learning how to cast fishing rods and “catch” fish in a safe and enjoyable environment. Students learned the basics of archery by learning how to shoot bows and arrows.
